Despite Hyderabad caught in between the state division agitations, it has been chosen to host the 18th International Children's Film Festival for the year 2013. The biennial film festival, called The Golden Elephant, organised by the Children's Film Society India (CFSI), is scheduled to take place from November 14 to 20 in Lalitha Kala Thoranam unlike in 2011 which happened at Shilparamam.
Chief Secretary PK Mohanty and Bimal Julka, secretary, ministry of information and broadcasting, addressed the media on Friday in Secretariat. Mohanty said that an organizing committee, headed by him, will look after the accommodation, health-care, food and well-being of participants of the grand gala event.
The Golden Elephant fest features children's feature films, shorts, live action and animation movies from across the globe to India. The fest will have three categories in the Competition section - International, Asian Panorama and Little Directors. The Non - Competition section will screen the most fascinating Indian children's movies of the last 10 years. Besides the above, the fest will also see open forums, workshops and special events.
